This lady is one of my oldest, if not my oldest friend. We have known each other now for 20 years. It physically hurts me to say those words...because it means we're getting older. We met when we were 15 in English class....(pretty sure. If I'm wrong, she'll tell me..she remembers EVERYTHING.) We bonded over our sarcasm. She introduced me to Metallica and I had my first illegal beverage at her house when we were 16. We spent countless hours baking in the sun and hanging out in her silver Eclipse that you could hear before it rounded the corner to my parent's house. Her punctuality was something I aspired to be as good at as, but never quite achieved. We sang together in choir and went on to be in the same choir at LBCC too. We went on choir tours together and were bus/ship buddies all over the great state. She took care of me when I was hungover and always made me feel like I was the funniest girl in the room. Her ability to listen and be a genuine, caring friend has proven time and time again. I always hoped I was as good of a friend to her and she was to me. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and truly someone who I hold very near and dear to me. We have so many wonderful memories together. I was so excited to hear that she was going to be expecting her 1st baby girl and had to bring my camera to her baby shower for a few photos. She is going to be a great mom and I can't wait to meet the next generation of Seal-Beach-pride-for-lifer-oh-so-soon!
