I met Bianca two years ago on October 31st. My eldest and she were in the same 3rd grade class, and Zoey needed help getting changed out of her Halloween costume. Behind Zoey was a little girl in a white onesie, large red puffy balls down her middle. Her otherwise sandy brown curly hair, sprayed orange and up in two messy buns on either side of her head. She wore a creepy smile painted along her mouth underneath a pair of signature thick framed glasses.

"I'm sorry...Are you supposed to be dressed up as Pennywise?" I said to the then, 8-year-old.

"Have you seen the movie?"

"Yes! And I LOVE it."

My child would have cried herself to sleep watching "It".

Most 8-year-olds would.

Hell, I would.

I mean, I get spooked watching that movie now. Not this one. Over time, I would begin to get to know the now 10-year-old with the soul of a 30 something-year-old. Her matter-of-fact punctuation's and love of horror films made me believe from the get go that she was just an old soul. (There are future plans for my eldest and she and the parents to go to Knotts Scary Farm. Her mom says she talks a mean game, but is a scaredy cat at heart. ) Our conversations are over how "Queen" was one of the all time greats and how "Stranger Things" is quite possibly the best television show ever written. Her affinity for 80's pop culture and cassette tapes makes me laugh. I always tell her she was born in the wrong decade. And if you're wondering? Yes, the Walkman is indeed hers.

What is your name and how do we know each other?

My name is Bianca and I know (you) Miss. Emily because she is my best friend’s mom.

How old are you?

10 years old.

What are you doing with yourself? Going to school..starting a career?

I’m going to school. I’m in the 4th grade.

What do you see yourself doing in the future?

I hope to be an actress….because it seems like a lot of fun.

Women are becoming a resilient sound that cannot be silenced. What are you doing to contribute to that sound?

What do hope to do to become a strong individual? Just continue to be myself and everyone else should be themselves as well...Because if everyone were the same then the whole world would be boring.

What's something you learned from a younger age that has stuck with you?

I’ve learned from my teacher that whenever we take a test and we don’t do so well that we should keep moving forward and always try your best. It kinda applies to math...which is not my favorite subject. Math is what I struggle in most but I understand it more once I try.

Who is an individual who has made a profound impact on you and why?

Millie Bobby Brown...because she has inspired me to want to become an actress. She can sing. She says can’t dance but she can dance. She is nice person. I’ve never met her but I watch videos of her and the way she treats her friends is very nice.

*In order to grow, what do you do to combat challenges that reveal personal vulnerability?

So...Usually if that ever happens, I’ll go to someone who understands how I feel. I go to my mom to comfort me. But, that rarely ever happens.

What is something you want to accomplish and what are you doing to get to that place?

I am going to accomplish being an actress. I'll do that by starting off with getting into commercials.

Here are some silly questions to lighten the mood

Dogs or Cats?

Cheeseburgers or Salad?

Hmm...I like both but if i had to choose….cheeseburger.

Beach or Mountains?

The beach! Definitely the beach.

Sweet or Salty?

Lose all your old memories or never make new ones?

*Eyes widen* That’s deep. I think I’d rather make the new ones.

Disney..or is there really any alternative?

I like also Marvel….

(Well, Marvel is Disney now)

...Well, then I like both.

What's a fun fact about you that someone may not know about you?

When I was a baby..I didn’t grow hair until i was 4 or 5.

(Now look at you!)

I know!

I then end, with my last two important questions.

What is a common misconception about you that people make based on your appearance? What is your truth and how do you personify strength?

People think I’m older based on my size. Like I'm the 7th grade or that I’m 13.

(What are you doing to show others your lady power?)

I guess that it follows along with my other 2 answers. Which, is being myself.

You have inspired me. What about yourself do you hope to put out in order to inspire other young people?

Be yourself and if someone tries to change that...Tell them to talk to the hand.
